Our First Easter

So, our first Easter as a family of 4 was EGGcelent! This was the first holiday that we woke up together as a family of 4 in our house (at Christmas Burkley was still in the NICU and she spent most of New Years in there too before she was discharged). Cory and I woke up extra early (around 5:15) so that we could start getting dressed and ready for church before the babies decided to wake up. We ended up having to wake Brooks and Burkley up around 6:45 (after they slept for 11 1/2 hours) so that we could get them fed and changed into their Easter outfits before heading out the door for 8:00 Mass (and allowing a few extra minutes for diaper changes)! We made it to church on time and were getting settled in the pew when all of a sudden Burkley decided to have an explosion! It was so loud and I was so embarrassed!! The couple in the pew in front of us turned around and was laughing and the two little old ladies sitting next to us looked and started laughing! So, I get a diaper, wipes, and changing pad and head out to the ladies restroom to change a stinky diaper (and I'm laughing to myself the whole time). Holy cow, that diaper change was an ordeal with the frilly dress, bloomers, and lacy socks!! After that, all was well. Both babies slept through Mass and woke up right at the very end (when everyone was coming over to see how precious they are)! We came home, fed, pumped, and then loaded up and headed to Pappasitto's for lunch with the Scott family. We go there every year for lunch on Easter since Cory's dad gives up Mexican food for Lint. After or tummy's were FULL, we headed on over to my parents house for more food. Neither one of us was hungry, but we ate again and it was yummy (fried turkey, ham, dressing, slaw, corn, and green beans)! The babies were perfect and got so many baskets filled with goodies (I was beginning to think it was Christmas all over again with everything they got). And...here's several pictures from our first Easter! Enjoy and hope your family had a Happy Easter!

Thanks again to everyone who spoiled Brooks and Burkley on their first Easter. What a difference a year makes...who would have guessed we would be where we are today this time last year? Cory and I are so blessed and I thank God each and every day for giving me my two precious and healthy babies. I love them more than words could ever describe!

Happy GOOD Friday

Just thought we'd wish you a Happy Good Friday and share a few pictures of our GOOD little babies with you. Burkley sure has been acting silly today...she's full of smiles and is just laughing away when she's not acting like a puppy dog (she sticks out her tongue and makes a panting noise-it's the funniest thing ever...guess she learned that from her big sister Holly)!!!! Brooks on the other hand, is his normal self...just a smiling away and talking!!! We can't wait for daddy to get home this afternoon...we are loading up and going shopping!!! YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy the pictures...they are for sure going to make your day!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Well, last night was opening night for baseball and you can bet your bottom dollar that's what "we" were and will be watching day in and day out for the remainder of the season (yeah for me...right). We didn't have peanuts, hot dogs, or crackerjacks, but we did enjoy pizza as we rooted for our team. We usually root for the Astros, but when they play the Cubs, we have to follow our hearts and root for the Cubbies! For those of you who are wondering, Cory's dad is originally from Illinois, so the Scott boys are all HUGE fans (remember, Cory flew out the morning after my second transfer for a Cubs game).

Just wanted to share a few pictures of the cutest Cubs fans ever! They aren't the best pictures, but you take what you can get with two VERY full and VERY sleepy babies who are ready for bed. Again, notice how red Burkley's eyes are! I think she slept on and off yesterday afternoon for about 30-45 minutes. She doesn't want to miss a thing!
Go Cubs Go!!

On another exciting note...Brooks and Burkley slept in their own beds last night for the first time. They've been taking naps in their big beds and doing great, so we decided to give it a try last night. I'm not going to lie, I really wanted to grab my pillow and blanket and sleep on the floor in their room, but I didn't. I got up during the night to check on them and they were snoozing away. They love their beds and I think they love being able to stretch out. They went to sleep around 7:45 and we didn't hear a peep until 5 this morning. We fed them and put them back down and they are still sacked out in there! Brooks should be waking up pretty soon as he likes to get snuggle time with mommy before his sister wakes up!
Have a Happy and Chilly Tuesday!!

15 Weeks

Scroll on down to see pictures from this past week. Enjoy!!!
Since daddy was playing cards Wednesday night, the twins and I packed up and headed to Grammy and Poppy's house for an evening of FUN! Thanks to a fellow blog friend (who is also a mommy to multiples) I learned that Toy's R Us was having a great sale on Little Tikes items (buy one, get one free...29.99 or less) so I had to go. With birthday's and Christmas all in the same week, I better get started now! So, mom and I talked Poppy into going along with us...and even though he didn't really want to go, he did! And...you will never guess what happened to him while we were there. I stopped at the customer service desk to exchange a few things and I remembered that I left my camera out in the car where someone could see it if they walked by. So, I asked dad if he would run out and get it for me. He did and it seemed like he was out there for EVER (mom and I figured he got a call or something). A few minutes later, he came walking in with this funny grin on his face. Guess what happened?!?!? A bird pooped on his shoulder when he walked out of the store! I took a picture of it, but it didn't turn out good! Mom and I (and dad too) had a GREAT laugh. You would think that his chances of getting pooped on by Brooks or Burkley would be greater than getting pooped on by a bird!!! And mom made him ride in the back of the suburban between the twins!
And here's a picture of all the goodies we bought! The back of my car looks like it does the day after Thanksgiving (I sure missed that shopping day this year)!

Brooks, Poppy, and Kyla playing!
Brooks, Burkley, and Kyla watching their "movie"

On Thursday, we went to eat Mexican food with my parents and we ALL went in our vehicle. This was my view from the very back of the suburban! Oh, how times have changed!!!
Brooks wondering what his mommy is doing in the back of the car!
He just smiled and talked to me the entire trip!
Burkley looking out the window and thinking about closing those big blue eyes!
From my view...
Brooks, Grammy, Burkley, Cory, and Poppy
(I had to climb in through the trunk and over the stroller to get to my little seat...try doing that when you are stuffed...ugh!)
Holly guarding Brooks and Burkley's room.
When they are napping, she will walk in there to check on them...it's so sweet!
Protecting here babies!
Look at Brooks and Burkley looking at her...they love their big sister!
Don't freak out...I was sitting right there making sure that Holly didn't get any closer (I just scooted back to snap the picture)
We LOVE tummy time!

LOOK at this...we have a thumb sucker!
This is how I have found her the past few mornings or when she wakes up from a nap.
Look at them...doing the same thing!

I had to post this one...
Look how red Burkley's eyes are! She's was so stinkin' tired, but she wouldn't give in!
So sweet...it looked like he was trying to hold her hand,
but he moved as I snapped the picture!
And this is how my little man is all of the time!
Don't you just love the shirt? Daddy wasn't to sure about it!
