Our First Movie Day

Well, the weather man predicted 70% chance of rain in our neck of the woods today (it was then lowered to 40%) so the kids and I loaded up to have Movie Day at Grammy and Poppy's house. Although it didn't rain as much as they predicted, it was still nasty outside and it was nice to stay in our comfy jammies all day long! Poppy bought us this movie, which came out today.
If you haven't seen this movie, you should. It's pretty funny, but I won't lie...it's sad at the end. Marley is one wild pup and has a mind of his own (thank goodness Holly isn't that bad)!

Poppy with Brooks, Burkley, and our new movie!

Poppy with Brooks and Burkley!
Thanks Poppy for our new movie. We sure loved that wild and crazy puppy!!

Just a random picture that I took today while eating lunch. Look at Burkley's face. She was watching Kyla eat her lunch and would just smile and laugh at her. I tried my hardest to capture Burkley in action, but I didn't have much luck. I still love that face. So sweet!!!

Oh Brother!

So...Kyla, Brooks, and Burkley have inspired us (mom and I) and we finally gave in to our creative side and bought this incredible and fun machine!

Ha, ha, ha. I know what you are thinking! Why on earth would they buy this when neither one of them know how to sew?!? Again, we let the creative side of our brain talk us into this. We purchased this Brother 2500 sewing/embroidery machine about a month ago and are having so much fun playing with it. The place where we purchased it from offers free lessons, so we have been able to attend 3 of them (2 embroidery classes and one sewing class) and we can take them as many times as we want. I'm not going to lie...there's a lot that you have to know in order to operate one of these machines. It's not as easy as I thought it would be. Our first embroidery class was a "theory" class and I thought I was in college all over again. I took 2 pages of notes while mom listened and messed with the machine! The classes were very helpful in getting us started...but, we still have a lot more learning (or should I say playing) to do. This machine is AWESOME and has so many great features! I just wish I had more time to sit and play on it...by the time I feed Brooks and Burkley and pump, the 3 1/2 hour cycle is ready to start all over again!!!

Here's a picture of mom playing on the machine.

A piece of "practice" scrap
And here's several things that mom has made so far for the babies. I made a golf towel for my brother-in-law, but I forgot to take a picture of it and my mom has monogrammed several beach towels that turned out amazing (don't have pics of those yet). I also made some initial shirts for Cory and my father-in-law, but I don't have pictures of these either. Okay...here's what my crafty mother has made so far...

We are having so much fun monogramming our little munchkins things. My job is going to be sewing the appliques (like the tie and cupcake) on because mom doesn't like doing it. I'm in the process of creating something fun for the girls! Stay tuned to see what it is. You may just want to order one!!
XOXO~

Hey Good Lookin'...

...whatcha got cookin'?

One pot of Burkley soup!
It's sure to be M'm, M'm, Good!

Last night we ate fajitas at my parents house and I decided to give the kiddos a bath and get them dressed and ready for bed before we headed home. Well, as I was getting the bath necessities ready to go, Cory decided to have a little fun with Miss Burke-e-Burke. She fits in the pot perfectly. Needless to say, we all had a great laugh!!!

Burkley with ALL of her belongings!
I took this picture of Burkley Saturday night before we put them to bed. This is the "new" norm for her. The girl LOVES her silkies. In this picture, she has two with her...the bunny silky and leopard silky. She was fussing when I put her in the swing and as soon as she saw me walking her way with her silkies, she started smiling. It amazes me that at 3 months old, my sweet baby girl knows exactly what makes her happy. She gets the silky all wrapped around her face and has a death grip on it when she's sleeping (after she falls asleep, I have to move it so she can breathe). Grammy is going to have to make her several more so that we can have one with us (and a backup) at all times. Lord help us if we ever forget one!!!! I LOVE my PRISSY little PRINCESS!!

One HOT dog

Just wanted to share a picture of my little man sporting one of my favorte pair of jammies. Like his jammies say, he's one HOT dog!!!! He's such a SWEET baby...ugh, I could just eat him up! I LOVE BROOKS!!!!!!
One HOT dog!
If you look closely, you can see Brooks' big sister Holly in the background!
She LOVES her baby brother and sister!
Not the greatest picture, but I wanted to show you the "new" norm for Brooks!
DROOL and BUBBLES!
And look at that tongue sticking out!

Pictures of Our 13th Week

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of Brooks and Burkley's 13th week!

On Tuesday, we spent the afternoon at Grammy and Poppy's house. Since daddy had to work late, we decided to stay and have dinner with them and then watch a concert headlining Poppy and "Uncle" Craig. My dad has recently picked back up the guitar and he's doing great. Burkley LOVED the music and Brooks enjoyed it so much that he fell asleep in Great Maw Maw's arms. Here's a few pictures to document their first concert! You ROCK Poppy and "Uncle" Craig!!!!

On Thursday, the twins and I packed up and headed over to visit Stephanie (my work spouse) and her new little man, Elliott. By the time we got there, I was already exhausted! Steph and I didn't even get to visit much because we were dealing with screaming babies, changing dirty diaper after dirty diaper, or feeding! We didn't get to stay that long because it was getting time for "the cycle" to start all over again and I really wanted to get home before it was time to feed the babies. And, here's a few pictures of our visit with Steph and Elliott! Thanks for letting us come and visit on such a short notice...hopefully we will be invited back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And here's the priceless photo!!!
Burkley decided to pitch a screaming fit towards the end of our visit for some reason...I've NEVER seen her do this before. I guess it was a combination of being tired and hungry. Or, maybe she didn't like being surrounded by stinky boys!!!

Slowly, slowly, slowly...they all go down!
Brooks fell asleep and could care less about having his picture taken.

(he still has no clue that we are taking his picture)

After we got home from visiting our new buddy, ate, and took an afternoon nap, I read this book to Brooks (Burkley was still sleeping...guess she was exhausted from her little fit). This book is AMAZING and he LOVED me reading it to him. The title is called My Very Own Name and it's about animals creating the perfect name for a baby boy that is born. On each page, an animal says a letter and why it's special and as the story is told, it spells out a name that has the perfect sound (it spells out Brooks' entire name). Burkley has the book My Very Own Fairy Tale and it's about fairies picking the perfect princess. Can you guess who's the perfect princess at the end of the story? You can get these books and other items at www.iseeme.com. Thanks again Aunt Karen and Uncle John for these fantastic books.

This afternoon, the twins and I met Grammy, Aunt Shu Shu, and Kyla at the mall so the kids could have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Brooks and Burkley did great, but Kyla was not a huge fan of the bunny at all (we got a super cute picture of her crying on his lap..those are always the best). I'll have to scan and post the bunny pictures later, but here are a few that we took in the middle of the mall.

Give-A-Way with a Cause

Okay, if you are a blogger, then you know how it is getting "hooked" on reading other blogs even if you don't know that person. Well, in the year that I have been blogging, I'd say that I have met some pretty wonderful people and I just wish I knew them in person too (I know that we would be great friends). While it's been fun reading other people's stories, it's also been a bit sad. In the past month or so, I have read about so many sick babies and it just breaks my heart and makes me count my blessings each and every day.

The other day I can across Bentley's blog..she's such a cutie. Bentley was diagnosed with CHD when she was 2 days old and will be having open heart surgery in 2 months. Her mother is doing a give-a-way in hopes to spread awareness about CHD. Take a few minutes to visit this blog( http://thewelshfam.blogspot.com/2009/03/chd-awareness-give-way.html)
and sign up for the give-a-way...hurry up and do it quick because it ends today! And..don't forget to keep little Miss Bentley along with her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Happy Friday...and HAPPY RETIREMENT PA PA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XOXO~

From 3 Pounds to 3 Months

Oh, how my 3 pound little princess has grown in just 3 months! She has come such a LONG way and Cory and I (along with everyone else who is in love with her) are so pround of her. She still looks tiny to most people, but we think she's such a big girl...and she's going to catch up with her brother pretty soon. Sister girl has a mind of her own and she keeps mommy pretty busy, but I wouldn't change it for the world! Here's a few pictures of my sweet little Burke-e-Burke!

A girl needs a morning nap if she's going to go visit grandparents!
(she put that "security bunny" like that...she loves her blankies)
I'm a BIG girl now!

Look at that serious face and those sweet little piggies!

Watching mommy and grammy sew/embroidery on their new machine
(she doesn't want to miss out...mom says she's just like I was when I was little, so I guess that's a good thing!!!!!)

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

I see two precious babies looking at me. And that's just what I saw as I was reading to Brooks and Burkley this morning. They loved mommy reading to them in her "teacher" voice and loved looking at all of the bright illustrations! We even made up our own version of Brown Bear, Brown Bear after we read it. They both would just smile and coo throughout the story, but perhaps that's because mommy was in sight or maybe they really did enjoy the story, or could it have been mommy's silly voice?!?!?! Here's a few pictures of my little one's.

My Two FAVORITE Students!

Saturday marked the twins official 3 month birthday. Cory and I decided it was time for them to transition into their "big boy" and "big girl" beds during nap time. So today, that's just what we did and there was some major snoozing going on in that room! They are trying out Burkley's bed this week and they will try Brooks' bed next week! Holly's trying to figure out why the babies are in that room...she goes in there all of the time and just stares up at the bed (I guess she's checking on them for me)!

Trying out the BIG bed for the first time.
Those legs sure are going 90 to nothing now...they keep kicking off the covers!

This is what I found on one of my MANY trips in to check on them...sound asleep!

Sister LOVES her big girl bed!

All stretched out in her bed...so comfy!

Brooks and Burkley in their Bumbo seats...don't they look cute!
(Yes, Brooks is sitting in a purple Bumbo seat ONLY because it's borrowed)
Aren't they getting so big?
