I feel so far behind on everything, so until I feel caught up, blogging is going to have to take the back burner. With birthday thank you notes and Christmas thank you notes to write, getting my house back in pre-Christmas order, and much much more, I just can't find the time to blog (and I hate that). I have so many pictures that I want to post, so I'll try to get to it at some point. In the mean time, please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers! More specifically please pray that my mom has a speedy recovery from foot surgery that she had yesterday, that my Maw Maw (who turned 91 on Wednesday) will bounce back quickly after yet another heart attack early Wednesday morning, and pray that my Pop will gain some strength/energy and will begin to feel "good/better" (he was diagnosed with Leukemia in April). We have a lot on our plates right now and are hanging in there and trusting God's plan!

Thanks so much and have a Happy New Year!!

Their Special Day

On Tuesday, December 21, 2010, Brooks and Burkley celebrated their SECOND birthday!
It was a pretty low key day since the weekend was filled with TONS of celebrating (B&B's party followed by my dad's birthday party, choir concert, then Born family Christmas)!
Elfie thought it would be fun to put their birthday presents on the table and then hide in them.
Silly elf!
The BIG birthday girl decided to wake up earlier than her brother for once.
She must have known it was her special day!
Once her big brother woke up, it was time to open presents!
Brooks opening ANOTHER pack of cars...just what he needed!
And an 18 wheeler car that holds 12 race cars and then launches them...so cool!
And sister got another sweet baby and some bottles for her babies!
Little mother in action!
Loving his new truck!
Birthday breakfast of champions.
Nothing like a powered donut...just what they ordered!
Singing Happy Birthday and making a wish!
Opening presents at Nea and Poppy's house...cute jammies!
The we went to eat lunch.
I was planning on taking them to get nuggets, but the birthday boy and birthday girl were very clear that they wanted pizza pie, so that's just what they got!
CHEESE!
This boy looooooooves pizza and looooooooves to dip it in "sauce" also known as ranch dressing!

Burkley dipping her pizza in sauce too!
Eating like a big girl!
After their nap, we went down to Pop and MiMi's house to open birthday and Christmas presents!
Brooks showing Pop Burkley's horse and carriage building block set!
And showing Pop his new guitar!
Checking Santa out!
She didn't want to get too close!
(this Santa is sooooo old)
Overall, I think these two cuties had a WONDERFUL 2nd birthday!

Christmas Concert...A First

This past Sunday morning, B&B sang in their very FIRST choir concert and it was PRECIOUS!
The youth group at church did a skit and sang a few songs and then the MDO kiddos sang 4 songs (Jingle Bells, Ho Ho Ho Hosanna, Away In a Manger, and We Wish You A Merry Christmas).
They have been practicing for quite some time and B&B knew almost all of the words and knew all of the hand movements to the songs, but I was curious to see if they would actually perform in front of hundreds of people.
I am so proud of my little ones...they sang (although it wasn't loud) and did EVERY SINGLE HAND MOVEMENT to all 4 songs.
Believe me, it was PRECIOUS!
Take a look...
Sitting right next to Mrs. Lynda watching the older kids perform!

And so it begins...

Sitting like a little lady!!!

After they performed, they joined us as we listened to the Message, "The Christmas Story" by Doug the Dog!

Howling like Doug the Dog!
See, I told you the pictures were precious!
I'm already looking forward to next years performance!!
