My Precious Babies

Here's B&B's 6 month pictures.
Are they cute or what?!?!?!
(they look a little blurry to me for some reason,
but it could be because they were scanned)
Look how Brooks put his sweet little hand on his sister. I PROMISE I did not put it there...he did it on his own! He's such a little lover!

LOVE those sweet little faces!

She's Got Legs

She may be tiny and still wear size 0-3 month clothes at 6 months of age, but this little princess has a set of STRONG legs on her. Look at her new trick!!! Oh, and she LOVES to take steps too. We have a bet going that she will be walking (or should I say running around) by 9 months old. What do you think?!?! Like my mom said, I better put on my running shoes, cause this sweet little girl is going to keep me BUSY!!!!

Such a big girl...I wish I could have snapped a picture of that sweet little face, but I wanted to be in "catching distance" just in case she decided to fall on over...which, she did not!! Until today, Brooks had no interest in putting weight on his legs so that he could stand. I've been working with him and he decided that he would give it a try several times today and I think he liked it! They both are also doing a pretty good job at sitting up...it won't be much longer!!

My New Tank...

...top that is! I can't wait to sport this tank that mom and I created yesterday!!! I'll have to agree...TWINS DO ROCK!!! I love me some B&B!!!!
(It needs to be washed because you can see where the hoop was)

Father's Day Weekend

What a busy weekend we had! We spent Friday and Saturday night at Nana and PaPa's house since Uncle Todd, Aunt Andi, Courtney, and Kyle came down to visit...this was their first time to meet Brooks and Burkley. I began packing EARLY Friday morning for our "mini family vacation" and all I can say is that I was worn out by the time I got the suburban all packed up and got the twins loaded. I should have taken a picture, but I guess that was the least of my worries. I'm an over packer for sure, but it's better to be safe than sorry...I've always been like that!!! B&B did great and Nana and PaPa LOVED waking up to those sweet smiles in the morning!

Father's Day 2009

6 Months Old today 6-21-09

I would say that Cory had a wonderful first Father's Day. B&B let us sleep in an extra 30 minutes or so, so that was a wonderful gift alone. After we fed, had breakfast, and got dressed, we headed up to the hospital to visit with Avery for a bit. Then, it was back to Nana and PaPa's house to pick up B&B and load up and then headed over to my parent's house for some fun in the sun and a lovely steak dinner.

Here's a picture of everyone having fun in the sun! Brooks, Burkley, and Kyla LOVED kicking and splashing in the pool!

I jokingly made the comment while we were all in the pool that Cory and I were going to spend the night Sunday at my parents...and before I knew it, there were a few others that decided to join us for the slumber party So, EVERYONE spent Sunday night at Grammy and Poppy's house (and Maw Maw's house)...and we stayed up LATE too (I don't know about you, but I think 11 is pretty late)! We had such a great time spending the weekend at our parents homes!

Brooks playing on the new piano at Poppy and Grammy's house...PLEASE don't laugh at the PINK bumbo seat he's sitting in...it isn't his!

Hope all of the AWESOME dad's in my family had a fantastic father's day!

XOXO~

They "Said" She was Sick

This past Thursday, our niece Avery, was admitted to Texas Children's Hospital for pneumonia. She's been battling this off and on since the twins were born and although we were a bit anxious about her being hospitalized, we were thankful that the doctor's had a "plan of action" for her and she would be on the road to recovery. At first, they were planning on doing a scope procedure and go into her little lung to remove the fluid build up, but they decided not to jump the gun and treat her with a strong antibiotic via IV every 8 hours. She was a little trooper and you would have NEVER known that she was sick. Oh, and she told PaPa (my father-in-law) that he needed to buy "this place" because it was soooo cool...I mean when you have a PSP in your room and you get popsicles, ice cream, snow cones, get to order your own food AND eat it in the bed, can go up to the top floor to the library, walk over to the neighboring hospital to eat at McDonalds, get "stuff" off the Fun Cart, go to the play room, have a ton of visitors, and get a bunch of gifts...why wouldn't you want to buy it!!! She's a hoot and keeps us all laughing all the time. Here's a few pictures I took of our little visit!! Oh, and she was discharged Monday afternoon and will be on oral antibiotics for the next few weeks and will have a follow up visit in 3 months.

Candy will make anyone feel better!

Hay Hay, Avery, and Uncle Cory...
Yes, she's giving him bunny ears!

The Fun Cart just stopped by her room and she picked out a door hanger, flamingo, and some GLITTER! She's making the door hanger for her door!

Goodbye...Farewell...

...to my best friend for the past 6 months. On Monday, I decided to say "farewell" to this magnificent machine that allowed me to feed my two little ones for half of their first year.
It wasn't an easy decision to make and I wasn't ready to "throw in the towel" just yet, but my body was telling me it was time. And for the first time, I decided to listen and returned my best bud. This is actually the second pump that I rented...I blew up the first one...guess pumping round the clock every 3-4 hours wore the first one out!
See, my body was telling me it was tired. Pumping this amount was a shame...I got more when I was still in the hospital than I was getting the past few weeks. It would have been interesting to see just how many ounces I was able to get in a 6 month period...thousands I'm sure!!!!
When I noticed my supply was decreasing, I decided to introduce B&B to formula. I've been mixing the formula with my milk and they have done great. Our stash of milk in the freezer is dwindling quickly, so it won't be too much longer until B&B are strictly on formula...and baby food and cereal. So far, they both LOVE all of the fruits and veggies that have been introduced to them.
Farewell pump! Our table looks so bare without you, but honestly, it has been rather nice not having to tote my "pump bag" with all of the belongings here - there and everywhere!!! I never thought I would make it a week, much less six months (with TWO babies)!!!

Our New Swings

Nana and PaPa came over tonight for dinner and PaPa hung B&B's swings that they got for Christmas. They LOVE being outside and they LOVED being in their new swings. I know where we will be hanging out in the mornings and evenings...that is when we are not in the pool!

PaPa and Miss Priss watching Baby McDonald...look at that pose!

First of MANY Play Dates

Brooks and Burkley hosted their first play date today. It was a HUGE success and everyone seemed to have a great time. Thanks to all of the mommy's for taking the time to bring your little one's over to play with my little one's. When and where's the next one?!?!

The invite!!

Watching cartoons with daddy after breakfast.
They LOVE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Agent Oso
(and they LOVE when mommy sings and dances to all of the songs)

She's ready for all of the "stinky" boys to come to her party!

Sporting his FIRST Quicksilver shirt that Poppy bought him...too cute!

The only picture I took while Kyla was there...she wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get one of her precious little face. Sweet baby girl is going to turn one on Sunday. Where on earth has this past year gone? I love this little "thing" so much!!

Strollin' with my Babies

Cory and I decided to take Brooks, Burkley, and Holly for a walk around the neighborhood this evening. And...B&B rode in their stroller for the first time without their infant seats! YEAH! As a new mommy, this is just another one of those "milestones" that makes me happy and sad at the same time. I was hesitant at first, but they did great...and they LOVED the nice breeze that was blowing and enjoyed being able to look around and see things. Evening walks just may be a ritual from now on...the pictures below may explain!!!
One trip around Royal Estates will wear two little ones out!

He held these rings the entire walk...guess he didn't want his sister to take them AGAIN!

Sister and her baby doll!

This picture has nothing to do with our walk, but I wanted to share it. These new garage decorations contain 5 1/2 years of teaching materials. I did some major decision making during my last week of teaching and these tubs have all of the important things that I wanted to keep (most of these tubs are filled with books for Brooks and Burkley and my files). Not bad, huh? I still have some stuff left in my classroom that I didn't want to get rid of, but I'm letting Lisa, my intern who got my position, use it.
***Stay tuned...Brooks and Burkley are hosting their first play date tomorrow***

24 Weeks

B&B turned 24 weeks old today! These two little ones are growing up way toooooo fast for me. This stage that they are in right now is so fun...they are keeping me pretty busy (and sometimes tired), but I'm having a BLAST and wouldn't change it for the world. They were definitely worth the wait!!! Here's a few pictures I snapped of them tonight before dinner. We have good eaters so far...they love sweet green peas, sweet potatoes, roasted butternut squash, sweet baby carrots, and they even had roasted apples this morning for the first time!
His mouth is watering for some yummy cereal and sweet green peas!

Trying to get that bib on so he can EAT!

Little Missy has discovered her tongue!
And this is how she is most of the day (when she not squealing or squirming all around on the play mat)!

Blowing bubbles...and cereal...and sweet green peas at mommy
(I tried getting her to do this ALL day today...and guess when she finally decided to do it...or when she finally learned how to do it)!!!
Stay tuned for more pictures. I'm officially a SAHM now, so I'm hoping to be better at posting updates!

Sweet Ride

I rarely do things like this, but I can't pass this opportunity up! Madsen Cycles is having a great contest (that will end on July 15th) and I hope I'm one of the two lucky winners of this sweet ride. Isn't it cute and can't you picture me strolling Brooks and Burkley around the neighborhood in this? So...click on the "Madesn" button I have on the left side bar and help me win this SWEET RIDE!!! Oh, and if you want the same opportunity, feel free to grab their button and send traffic their way!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
