This past Thursday, our niece Avery, was admitted to Texas Children's Hospital for pneumonia. She's been battling this off and on since the twins were born and although we were a bit anxious about her being hospitalized, we were thankful that the doctor's had a "plan of action" for her and she would be on the road to recovery. At first, they were planning on doing a scope procedure and go into her little lung to remove the fluid build up, but they decided not to jump the gun and treat her with a strong antibiotic via IV every 8 hours. She was a little trooper and you would have NEVER known that she was sick. Oh, and she told PaPa (my father-in-law) that he needed to buy "this place" because it was soooo cool...I mean when you have a PSP in your room and you get popsicles, ice cream, snow cones, get to order your own food AND eat it in the bed, can go up to the top floor to the library, walk over to the neighboring hospital to eat at McDonalds, get "stuff" off the Fun Cart, go to the play room, have a ton of visitors, and get a bunch of gifts...why wouldn't you want to buy it!!! She's a hoot and keeps us all laughing all the time. Here's a few pictures I took of our little visit!! Oh, and she was discharged Monday afternoon and will be on oral antibiotics for the next few weeks and will have a follow up visit in 3 months.
Avery and Uncle CoryCandy will make anyone feel better!
Hay Hay, Avery, and Uncle Cory...Yes, she's giving him bunny ears!
The Fun Cart just stopped by her room and she picked out a door hanger, flamingo, and some GLITTER! She's making the door hanger for her door!
