Success!!

Like you always hear, the 3rd time really is a charm!
Photo shoot #3 was successful tonight and I'm thrilled to pieces!
Here's a few that didn't make the Christmas card cut!

I'm so glad I was FINALLY able to get a few decent pictures of these two little monkeys.
I was beginning to give up and think that we were going to pass on sending out Christmas cards this year.
Oh, and I did get the promo code for 50 FREE cards from Shutterfly.
In fact, I just ordered them and I'm happy to say that I only had to pay $8.65 for shipping.
I can't wait to get them in and get them mailed off!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving...we sure did!

SAVE with SHUTTERFLY

It's that time of year again.
Time to start looking for the PERFECT Christmas card to send out to family and friends.
I love sending out Christmas cards and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE getting them in the mail even more!
This is how I displayed Christmas cards last year around our house.
I loved walking into the kitchen and looking at all of the precious pictures!
I don't know about you, but I'm already stressing out about capturing the perfect picture of B&B and picking out the perfect photo card that coordinates with their outfits!
We had their first Christmas photo shoot Sunday morning and it was unsuccessful.
Just see for yourself!

And then we had their second (and not their last) photo shoot today and it too was unsuccessful!
It's hard trying to capture the perfect picture of your children when you are doing it solo.
It's times like these that I need to be an octopus!
Looking at...
anything/everything but...
the CAMERA!!!
Now, I do have a few that I can pick from, but right now I'm going to focus on picking out our Christmas card for 2010.
In years past, I have ordered our cards from various places, but this year, I'm happy to let Shutterfly create our cards.
They are having an AWESOME promotion right now and I urge you to check out their site here
http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery if you are trying to decided on a card.
In the past few years, I have ordered thank you notes and a poster from Shutterfly and I have been very impressed with their quality of work.
I hope that you will take them up on this offer and I can't wait to share our Christmas card with all of you!
But for now, I'm still trying to decide on the perfect picture and the perfect design!

Hard at Work

This little boy can entertain himself for HOURS.
He did this bright and early one morning for about 45 minutes while his sister was still sleeping!
When I told Cory that I bought B&B some Play-Doh to play with he freaked out.
To his surprise, they both do an incredible job playing with it and do not make a mess at all (I knew they could do it)!

Our New Family Member

Meet Fishy Kirkpatrick Scott III.
Burkley named him Fishy and Cory wanted to name him Kirkpatrick the 3rd...not sure where the 3rd comes in since there hasn't been a Sr. or Jr!
Yes, we expanded our family Monday evening.
We took Holly to the spa at PetCo to get her hair cut and when we picked her up, we ended up walking out with Fishy.
The kids LOVED walking around and looking at all of the animals at PetCo and so far, they love their new little pet!
I'm hoping Fishy lives as long as our last Beta fish Bubbles...he made it almost a year!

Where's Brooks and Burkley

I was doing a few things around the house Saturday morning and I heard B&B giggling in the living room.
This is what I saw when I walked in to see what was so funny!!!

They did this for a good 45 minutes!
(which allowed mommy to do some much needed laundry, unload the dishwasher, and a few other chores)

My 2 Little Turkeys

I snapped a few shots of my little turkeys this morning on our way out the door to MDO!
Aren't they just precious?

I can't believe it's November and these two little turkeys will be TWO next month!
Ugh, where did my babies go?
I melts my heart every single time they "love" on each other!
I hope it stays like this for a loooooooong time.

They took a little detour on the way to the car...had to stop and tell Holly Belle bye!
And Mr. G.Q. himself!
He did this all by himself.
CHEESE!!
Her sweet smile gets me every time!
And another one of my handsome little turkey!
Hope you all are having a great week.
I'm still subbing in the afternoons and trust me, I'm marking off the days until Thanksgiving break just as fast as ever!
This momma needs a BREAK!

Pumpkin Carving Party

So, I'm a week late in posting this!
Oh well, that's what happens when you are busy.
Right?!?!
Last Thursday, we had a "pumpkin carving party" at Nea and Poppy's house!
We typically go out to eat Mexican food every Thursday, but Maw Maw decided to make a HUGE pot of chicken and spaghetti since there were 4 large pumpkins to carve.
And OH MY GOSH...it was the BEST chicken and spaghetti ever!
Anyway, here's a few pics from our evening!
Burkley touching the insides of the pumpkin...YUCK!
He cracks me up!
Monkey see, monkey do!
Watching Poppy clean out the pumpkin!
Poppy hard at work!
Aunt Shu Shu carving away on her pumpkin!
And me making the outline for my pumpkin!
They really weren't in to carving pumpkins as you can see!
Poppy's spider pumpkin!
Uncle's UT pumpkin and Aunt Shu Shu's ghost pumpkin!
My skull pumpkin (that Poppy ended up finishing for me)!
As you can see, we had fun carving!

Noah's Ark Party

Thursday was B&B's Noah's Ark parade and party at school!
They were asked to dress as Ark animals, hence their Halloween costumes (I wasn't into making 4 costumes this year)!
Ms. Lara and Ms. Lynda with all their little animals!
Brooks, Mommy, Nea, and Burkley before the parade!
Headed out...
Poor little lion wasn't sure what to think about everything.
I knew I was in trouble first thing that morning when I put his pants and shirt on...he kept saying "No momma, off"...soooooo not use to wearing all those clothes!
My little lion (trying to eat his sucker) and my little princess zebra!
Getting some goodies during the parade!
Nana and PaPa with their little lion!
Brooks and PaPa
(as soon as Brooks saw PaPa he was DONE with the parade)!
The parade/party was a huge success and by the time it was said and done, I had one TIRED lion and zebra on my hands (well, Nea took the lion home for a nap while I took the zebra to the doctor for her sinuses)!
