Where to Begin?!?

I have no idea where I need to start this long overdue post. So much has happened since my last post and I'm not thrilled about my lack of blogging either. Let's see, I'll just start with the first day of MDO (Mother's Day Out).

On September 6th, Brooks and Burkley had their 1st day of Mother's Day Out. We had been talking it up for several weeks in order to prepare them, and when they woke up that morning, they were both SO excited about going (thank goodness). They moved up to another class this year, which is much larger, is set up like a little classroom, and the majority of their friends also moved up to the same classroom (since they are all going 4 days a week). I was a bit nervous about sending them 4 days this year as opposed to the 2 days they went last year, but they LOVE it! There are occasionally those days where one or both of them do not want to go, but once they are there, it's no longer an issue (they would just prefer to stay at home and play with their toys).

Soooooo...their 1st day was successful and we are hoping for another great year at AFBC!!!

MORE POSTS/PICTURES COMING SOON...I"m going to try to get back into the swing of blogging again (but as of this past Monday, I'm a full time working mommy, so I'm not keeping any promises)!!!

Meet the Teacher

Someone was ready to meet her teachers and see her friends!

Tonight was Meet the Teacher at the church where Brooks and Burkley attend Mother's Day Out. I am SO proud of Burkley because she went right in, said hello to her teachers and friends and did not even cry when I left for the parent meeting. brooks was unable to attend tonight because his tummy had been acting up and we felt it was best he stay at home!

And the absence of blogging has me sick to my stomach too. I've kind of put it on the back burner for the past few months and I honestly cannot stand it. It's something that I LOVE doing, but just haven't had the time to do it lately. I began a long term kinder position last week and between that and processing orders for Oh Sew Cute Boutique, I just can't find the time to blog like I'd like to. Heck, I can't even sew at night because I'm so EXHAUSTED! It's only for a few weeks, so I'm hoping that once I finish this long term sub job, I can balance out blogging and sewing. I just can't stay up til 2 sewing during the week while I'm teaching 23 5 year olds!!!

Karate Dad

Not every girl can say their daddy is a 4th degree black belt. I can and to say that I'm super excited and proud of my dad is an understatement! My dad tested last week for his 4th degree black belt and the graduation ceremony was held this past Saturday afternoon. The past few months my dad has trained his heart out (from 5:45 AM to 9 AM every single day and from 6 AM to 9 PM this past Thursday and Friday) and all of his hard work paid off!

B&B know their Poppy is in karate, but have never seen him perform, so this performance was something new to them...and they were beyond excited!

Before the performance, Poppy was able to sneak out and get a little lovin' from the 3 oldest kiddos (Shea was sound asleep in her daddy's arms)! I was a little nervous about how they would do sitting for 3 hours, but all 4 of them were PERFECT. Well, until the part when they thought Poppy was getting hurt (but he really wasn't)!

In the above pictures, my dad is doing an Arnis demo. He's also a black belt in this art, but I forgot which degree black belt he is!

Dad was doing a few self defense maneuvers and this is when the kids thought Poppy was getting hurt. Here's what they were saying...and yes, people around could hear and my dad could even hear on stage and he had to stop and laugh!

Kyla: He pushed Poppy and that's not nice!

Burkley: Don't hurt my Poppy!

Brooks: That bad man is hurting Poppy! We were sitting on the front row, so we were up close and personal with it was time for the breaking of the boards! Wow, so neat to watch this and their little faces! Now, they all want to break a board!
And after 3 hours of sitting and waiting patiently, it was finally time for Poppy to get his 4th degree black belt!!! What an accomplishment! We are so proud of him for all of his hard work and dedication! Now, he has 5 years of training until his Master's test (5th degree black belt). Won't that be funny hearing him called Master Born!
