Our Easter

We had a BUSY and WONDERFUL Easter Sunday. It started bright and early when my alarm went off at 5:50 AM. Yep, it wasn't an accident. It was meant to go off when the chicken's crow (or probably before) so that I could get myself ready for 8 o'clock Mass before the little ones decided to wake up. Brooks woke up a little before 7 and was super excited to see what the "Ether" Bunny left him. Burkley on the other hand decided to sleep ALL NIGHT LONG in her bed (she typically wakes up around 3 or 3:30 and gets in bed with us...just like I did when I was little) and I had to open the bedroom door and pretty much wake her up around 7:20 or so. She too was excited to see what presents the bunny left for her, but she didn't get much time to look because I needed to get her dressed for church!

Church was GREAT. I'm so glad we were able to get everyone ready and out the door on time. I really miss going every Sunday, but it's just so hard to make it to 8 o'clock Mass. I know, that shouldn't be an excuse! B&B were really good during Mass and I LOVED watching them watch me sing some of my favorites! As we were kneeling during Communion, B&B both had their little hands folded and were "praying" and Burkley let out an AMEN! It wasn't her typical LOUD Amen, but it was loud enough for people around us to hear her. It was the most precious thing ever (they both say AMEN as loud as they can after they say the blessing each night). After church, we drove thru the local donut shop and grabbed a few donut holes, then it was back to our house for a few hours.
My father in law gives up Mexican food for Lent each year (has for years...have no clue how he does it. I for sure would die) so it's a family tradition that we eat our Easter lunch at Papasitos! Nothing beats great fajitas and good ritas!!! In case you can't tell in the pictures above, Brooks fell in LOVE with the green sauce! And don't you LOVE the DIVA'S lips?!?!?!?
After lunch, we headed to Nana and PaPa's house for an egg hunt!

And we walked back to MiMi's and did a little egg hunting. B&B both saw the yellow duck Peeps and had to have one...but they weren't huge fans of them!

We took a break from egg hunting to pose for a few family photos. I'm tickled because I don't know when the last time we had a family picture taken...and everyone was somewhat happy/smiling! I'm pretty impressed and excited about how they turned out!

After hunting eggs at Nana and PaPa's, it was time to head on over to Nea and Poppy's house to do a little egg hunting and fellow shipping! I LOVED watching how excited the kids got while hunting eggs...it's just precious!

We also had a little family photo shoot with my family and then we rode down to visit with Pop and Peggy for a bit. The kids were wound up and really put on a show for Pop in the short amount of time we were there! I'm sure it made his day!

And what's Easter without a YUMMY ice cream cone?!?!?!? Can you tell who LOVED it and who didn't want to sit still long enough to try one! Oh, and yes, that would be my daughter wearing a Pull Up that is obviously waaaaaay to big for her...but she had to wear it.

No, this picture isn't from Christmas, it's from Easter. And I just realized that I forgot to snap a picture of the goodies from aunts/uncles/cousins (sorry).

It was a very busy Easter afternoon, but it was also very relaxing. Nothing beats spending time with your family. Thanks again to everyone for spoiling our little bunnies!!!

Sale Pending Sign

If you're my "friend" on Facebook, then you have already seen this picture! Obviously, I knew it was coming, but when Eileen (our realtor) stopped by yesterday to pick up a paper she needed and stuck this little sign in the yard, I had another little meltdown!

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to pieces that someone made an outstanding offer on our home, but deep down, I'm also really sad. It's our FIRST home that our dad's helped us build. I spent numerous hours picking out every single thing in our home...I wanted it just perfect. This is our babies first home (that they will probably never remember and that makes me sad). We've made great friends with our neighbors and will miss them terribly...B&B love their older kiddos. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. I'm also a little overwhelmed about packing, but I know it will get done. My mother in law has helped me several days pack up a few boxes while my mom has watched the kiddos and that has helped big time. Yesterday, Cory and I got up in the attic and moved almost everything down, sifted through tubs, threw out junk, and organized. The only "stuff" left up there is our Christmas decorations and all the baby gear!Anyway, that's the latest on what we've been up to. If I seem to be MIA, you'll know why!!!

Wordless Wednesday (with just a few words)

Um, yeah! I've been doing a little sifting through and getting rid of things in my closet that are a few "seasons" old. Looks like there will be a garage sale in the near future...well, after May 31st. More on that later...I'm off to do a little more cleaning out!!!

Visiting the Easter Bunny 2011

We visited the Easter Bunny on Friday. B&B talked all morning about the bunny and were so excited, until it was time to actually sit on his lap. I don't blame them, it's one weird looking bunny (Cory's not a huge fan of him at all and hasn't been the 3 years B&B have sat on his lap).

Waiting in line and "egg"cited to see the bunny!

Someone spotted the bunny and wouldn't take his eyes off him!
I love Brooks' face! As soon as it was our turn, he told me that he didn't want to see the bunny! And Burkley did fine for about half a second, but I kept asking the bunny to move his hand so that he cute little bunny shirt (that I made her) would show!

These are the pictures from my camera. I'm not thrilled with the one that I purchased (for $21) because it's not centered and the color is off. Mine aren't necessarily "centered" either because I was standing to the side, but they are better than the "professional" ones (the lady in front of us complained big time because her pictures were waaaaaaaaay off centered and she spent more money than I did).

After they jumped off the bunny's lap, they got to pick out a prize. Brooks picked the bunny face and Burkley picked the lamb and they are still playing with them. Overall, visiting the Easter Bunny wasn't too horrible and we were able to get pictures and that's all that matters!
