How Many of Me?

As I was laying on the couch last night stalking blogs and trying to stay awake (it was probably only 8:00 and I was SICK of watching football), I found this interesting website. Take a few minutes to see just how many people have your first name, your last name, and how many people have your exact first and last name. It's pretty neat!

29 1/2 Week Dr. Appointment

Just wanted to update you on my last appointment that was Thursday, November 6th. I haven't gained any weight in the past two weeks, but my belly did grow (last time it measured 31 and now it is 33). I thought that I have gained a total of 19 pounds so far, but the nurse was looking over my chart and corrected me. I've only gained a total of 15 pounds so far (obviously I cannot add)! Honestly, I cannot believe that I hadn't gained any weight over the past two weeks, especially since I'm the one eating all of the Halloween candy (we didn't have any Trick or Treaters, so someone has to eat it...right?!?!). Don't worry, my babies are growing even though I'm not gaining a lot of weight...they are taking it from me (and I'm not really upset with that)! Both Dr. Mike and the nurse were pleased with how well I'm doing on my weight gain and said that I'm growing just beautifully. The nurse said "Girl, you are nothing but belly" and so far that's pretty much true.

I got to have my first pelvic exam on this visit and boy was that an unpleasant experience. I know it only took a few seconds, but it felt like eternity...YIKES, I don't look forward to having that done each week. So far, everything down "there" is normal according to Dr. Mike, which is good news. From now on, I will go back to Dr. Mike weekly and I'm not sure if Dr. Rowe will have me come more often since we are nearing the end of this journey or not. I go back to Dr. Mike on Wednesday afternoon and then I will see Dr. Rowe on Thursday morning (I can't wait to see how much Brooks and Burkley have grown). Dr. Mike laughed at me because he said that I purposely scheduled my appointments that way so that I can have 2 "outings" next week...and that's pretty much true!!!

So far, bed rest has not been that bad (then again it's only been a week). I've been able to go back and forth to my mom and dad's and lay on the couch and Dr. Mike told me that I can still continue doing that this week (but that could change after my appointment on Wednesday). It sure has been a blast getting to spend time with Kyla...she's so fun to watch and she always has a smile on that sweet face!! I did stay at home yesterday by myself and it was super boring...Holly and I pretty much napped on and off all day long.

Check back soon as I'm in the process of uploading pictures from my shower that was last weekend (are you happy Katie?!?!).

Take care~

School Shower 10-20-2008

On October 20th, my team hosted a baby shower in honor of Brooks, Burkley, and myself. They did a FANTASTIC job decorating an empty classroom in order to get it ready for the shower. Everyone went out of their way to make sure this shower was perfect...and it was! Thanks again team for a WONDERFUL shower.

I've FINALLY Joined the Stay at Home Mom Club...(for the time being)

Well, Halloween was officially my last day of work until I return from maternity leave. It was a good day, but I actually had to teach that morning (can you believe that...teach on my last day) because Lisa (my intern) was attending a meeting. My class was perfect all day, which was great! They are so funny because they don't really understand why I have to stay at home on "bed rest"..they think I'm having the babies today!!!

I actually had a great surprise yesterday afternoon too. Two of my sweet mothers brought cookies and drinks for the class and they each brought a gift for my little miracles. Can you believe that? One mom made two blankets that are beautiful and the other mother gave me little bath robes for each baby that are super cute! Several weeks ago I had two parents from last year bring me gifts too and one parent brought a gift and I didn't even have her son in my class. It's such a great feeling knowing how many people care about us and Brooks and Burkley.

Below are a few pictures from yesterday. I have a few of me with my class, but unfortunately I cannot post them because of privacy issues. It was a great day, but I'm going to miss seeing everyone on a day to day basis. Hopefully some will come and visit me!!!

Georgia Facts
Since the election is going on, each classroom had to pick a state and decorate their door or wall outside their room. The states that I wanted were already picked by the time the list got to me, so I just picked Georgia. We did a little research and we interactively wrote the facts on sentence strips and posted them around our Live Oak Tree. Don't you LOVE the peaches...I sponge painted them. Although or wall/door did not win the contest, I still think it turned out pretty good. Each classroom also had the opportunity to vote. McCain was the winner by the vast majority in my classroom!!! One student kept calling him O'Cain...maybe just a little confused huh?!?!
XOXO~
