12 Weeks and Birthday Parties

So, I'm a little late with this post, but I've been busy working on a project at night and I just haven't had the time to blog this week. SORRY! WOW, Brooks and Burkley are 12 weeks old and are so much fun. They keep me VERY busy, but it's SO worth it. I thank GOD every single day for giving me (and Cory) these sweet little miracles. I just LOVE them to death and can't get enough of them. They are both just a smiling and cooing away and if that doesn't put a smile on your face, then I don't know what will. I love it when they wake up in the morning...they are both always in the best mood and have the biggest smile on their face when I walk over to the pack-n-play to pick them up. It's super sweet!!!!

This past weekend was a birthday party weekend for the Scott twins. It started on Friday the 13th with Uncle Kevin's birthday (Cory's brother), then on Saturday we celebrated Grammy's (my mom) birthday, and on Sunday we celebrated PaPa's (Cory's dad) birthday. The babies enjoyed celebrating with Grammy and PaPa, but I'm pretty sure Grammy and PaPa enjoyed it more! Here's to many, many more birthday's!!!
12 Weeks Old
Brooks (Buckaroo, Medium Stinky, Handsome Boy) leaving Grammy's slumber party and heading over to celebrate PaPa's birthday. He's all bundled up...isn't that grin the sweetest?!?!

Burkley (Burke-e-Burke, Princess, Little Stinky) all bundled up in her warm little jacket. Would you look at those BIG BLUE eyes...I swear the girl never blinks!
PaPa with his precious presents (Colton, Brooks, Burkley, and Avery)

Now, if you work at Scott Funeral home, you better watch out! Your job just got a little more difficult as you will now have to answer to these two!!!! You may think they are a little to young to be in charge, but they are about to take over. BEWARE...
Can you see what their shirts say??? Mom and I (well...mainly mom) made these on our new monogram machine-they say Scott Funeral Home in case you can't read it. Are they precious or what? Mom and I were at Wal Mart the other day and came up with this idea. Of course their daddy and PaPa LOVED them!!!
I'm the NEW boss at Scott Funeral Home!

NO...I'M the NEW boss at Scott Funeral Home!

Monday was Grammy's actual birthday, so the kids and I loaded up and ran a few errands with er and Kyla. I know I've mentioned this in a previous post, but when we run errands, we take separate vehicles because we don't want to transfer car seats and strollers!
Here's Grammy with her precious presents (Kyla, Burkley, and Brooks)

Sweet Kyla (Poot, Big Stinky)

Since the weather was nice, I decided that I better go ahead and take a picture of Brooks and Burkley in the bluebonnet patch at mom and dad's house. Love the shadow...it's my mom and dad snapping our picture.
Hope everyone is enjoying their spring break. I want time to SLOW down...May 1st will be here before I know it and I'm not ready to go back to work. Maybe God will answer another prayer for me???????

Random Pictures at 11 Weeks

Just wanted to share a few random pictures that I took of Brooks and Burkley this week. Have a great weekend and enjoy the pictures. If you live in our area...stay dry and warm (this weather stinks big time). I'm ready for it to be sunny and warm (not hot...just warm).

Sleepy Little Cubs Fans
(jammies complements of their daddy)
LOOK...Brooks is holding his own bottle!
What a big boy...guess he didn't trust his PaPa!!!

Look at those sweet little hands!!!

Sacked out...
They are still sleeping in the pack-n-play in our room. We are going to begin practicing taking naps in their room soon...I don't know if I'm ready for them to be in "their" room just yet!!!

Watching their first movie (Baby Einstein) at Grammy's house...although Brooks is asleep in the picture, he did watch it for quite a while!!!

Exhausted!!!

Burkley's new trick...sucking her fingers!!
She's been sucking on her hands and fingers and I've caught her sucking her thumb several times. I'm trying to get her to suck the ones in the picture below (those are the ones that I sucked when I was little).

Like mother, like daughter!!!

My Lucky Charms

WOW...my little sweet peas are now 11 weeks old. They are still just as cute as ever and we are all (meaning our entire family) enjoying all of the smiles we are getting. When you are talking to them (or even just looking at them) they will give you the biggest smile and will even coo at you. It's the sweetest thing ever and it's been so much fun watching them grow and develop little personalities. Here's a few pictures I took of my little lucky charms at my mom and dad's house today. Enjoy...they will for sure put a smile on your face!!!

Mommy and Daddy's Lucky Charms
3-9-09
11 weeks old

Here's a few things about my sweet Brooks
*LOVES to smile and "talk"
*Has recently discovered his hands
* Enjoys sleeping...still sleeping all night long
* LOVES his bath
*HATES when it's time to stop and burp while eating...literally pitches a fit
*LOVES when mommy sings to him
*Beginning to drool and makes bubbles
* Is a snuggle bunny
* HATES it when the car stops...as long as we are moving, we are good to go
* Is now eating 5oz of mommy's milk
*Is SUPER SWEET and is Mommy's HANDSOME Boy!!!

And here's a few things about my Little Princess...
* Has discovered her hands and fingers (I wonder if she will suck the same fingers I did)
*Has a smile that will melt your heart in an instant
* Is beginning to "talk" as well
* Still drinking 4oz of milk
*LOVES taking a bath
* Has developed a bit of an attitude when eating...she now gets angry when we stop to burp her. Yes, this is the same child that we had to force to eat about a month ago.
* Fights her sleep BIG time during the day-10 to 15 minute cat naps is all she needs (her eyes will be so red, but she won't dare close them for fear that she will miss something)
* When she falls asleep at night, shes asleep! I usually have to wake her in the mornings after I feed Brooks.
* When I sing to her, she just stares into my eyes
* She has the BIGGEST blue eyes ever
* Loves to be held, but she also likes the swing and vibrating bouncy chair
* Is just as SWEET as she is CUTE!!!

Do You See What I See?

So, I'm a day late at posting this exciting news, but yesterday was one of "those" days and I never got around to posting. Sorry! What's the exciting news you may ask...well, take a look at the Itzbeen!!!!!!!

This handy dandy Itzbeen helps us keep track of when Brooks and Burkley eat and you can tell from the picture above that they made it 8 hours and 55 minutes and 9 hours and 25 minutes. They slept ALL night long for the first time! Don't get me wrong, we have always said they have slept through the night because they would go about 5 or 6 hours, but this is REALLY sleeping ALL night long. I was a little unsure about jumping the gun and getting excited about this (thinking it would be something that only happened once), but when we woke up this morning, the Itzbeen said 9 hours and 42 minutes! Go Brooks and Burkley. They both inhaled their bottle and are back to sleep (they are still pretty exhausted from the 2 stinky shots they got yesterday). Just thought I'd share this HUGE accomplishment with you.

Brooks and Burkley's Baptism

This past Saturday (February 28th), Brooks and Burkley were Baptized. The service was very personal, being that it was only our family in attendance. Brooks and Burkley looked super cute in their outfits and of course were perfect the entire day. Brooks wore the little outfit that Cory wore home from the hospital and Burkley wore the dress that I was Christened in when I was a baby. Needless to say, both of our mother's were pleased that I wanted them to wear our outfits...made it that much more special. Here's a few pictures from Brooks and Burkley's special day.
